Company Visit: Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) SME Centre
On 29 January 2026, 56 BBA Management students enrolled in MGT4312 Launching Business in the Asia-Pacific visited the HKTDC SME Centre at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai. The trip offered practical insights into starting and expanding businesses in the Asia Pacific region.
Mr. Jason Tsang, Senior Customer Service Executive at HKTDC, warmly welcomed the group and introduced the SME Centre’s tailored resources for aspiring entrepreneurs. He led a tour of the centre’s centralized resource and interactive service areas, highlighting its business library, meeting spaces, function rooms, and a range of business support services.
Jason also explained HKTDC’s export marketing services for small and medium-sized enterprises, information that proved especially valuable for students interested in regional market expansion. During the visit, students accessed up-to-date information on the Asia Pacific and Mainland China markets, learned about current industry trends, and made useful contacts for future ventures.
The visit deepened students’ understanding of the practical steps involved in launching a business and showcased the networks and resources available to entrepreneurs in Hong Kong. Overall, the trip was both informative and enjoyable, leaving participants better prepared and inspired to pursue business opportunities in the dynamic Asia Pacific landscape.
