My exchange semester at the University of Bern became far more than an academic pursuit—it was a profound personal journey. Arriving in Switzerland's charming capital, I discovered that the real education happened beyond the lecture halls. The greatest gift was the friendships I forged with students from across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. Sharing meals and stories, I learned that genuine connection transcends cultural boundaries. These relationships taught me as much about the world as any textbook. Embracing the local language proved both challenging and rewarding. Each successful conversation in halting German—ordering food, asking directions—built confidence that extended into every aspect of my life abroad. Swiss culture revealed itself through its traditions. Sharing fondue on cold evenings and experiencing local festivals immersed me in a new way of life. Even the classroom offered fresh perspectives, with an emphasis on discussion and independent thought that contrasted beautifully with my Hong Kong education. This journey broadened my horizons in unexpected ways. I returned home not just with credits, but with greater independence, a global network of friends, and a deeper understanding of both the world and myself. Bern didn't just host my exchange—it transformed me.

My time at Bocconi University has been an amazing experience. Meeting students from all over the world broadened my perspective and helped me understand different cultures. The lively campus atmosphere made learning fun and provided great opportunities to build friendships. During the semester, I faced challenges that pushed me to adapt and grow. Working on group projects taught me how to collaborate and appreciate different viewpoints. The professors were very supportive and helped me succeed in my studies. The courses I took were interesting and often related to real-life situations. I loved exploring Milan, trying local food, and learning about its rich history. Additionally, I had the chance to travel to different countries, which allowed me to experience various cultures firsthand and deepen my understanding of the world. As I wrap up this experience, I am grateful for the friendships I made and the lessons I learned. My time at Bocconi has had a positive impact on my future goals, and I look forward to using what I've learned to make a difference in the world.

I had the incredible opportunity to participate in an exchange program at York University in Canada, which became the highlight of my academic journey. Adapting to the cold weather was initially a challenge with morning classes, but the scenic snow views quickly become part I embraced most. My classmates and exchange buddies welcomed me into their social circles. We attended festivals and travelled together, exploring both the U.S. and Canada, from mountains to vibrant city life. These experiences enriched my understanding of North American diversity. Negotiation was a standout course that showcased the Canadian educational approach. I thoroughly enjoyed the interactive nature of the course, from cunning tactics in negotiations to discussions about career development and job environment differences. This exchange journey nurtured my personal development and ignited career aspirations, especially with final-year students surrounding my academic experience.

My exchange in France was one of the most transformative experiences of my life. While being an ethnic minority initially felt challenging, the warmth of locals—whether sharing café au lait in Reims or inviting me to weekend wine tastings—quickly made me feel at home. Choosing a university with fewer Hong Kong students pushed me to fully immerse myself: engaging in lively debates at SciencesPo, bonding with flatmates over cheese boards, and taking spontaneous trips across Europe. Beyond the croissants and champagne, this journey taught me independence and adaptability while showing me how to connect across cultures. It was in simple moments—like a Parisian baker patiently explaining the art of French pastries—that I gained my deepest insights. Exchange isn't just about studying abroad; it's about discovering yourself through new experiences that reshape how you see the world.

I am very grateful for the opportunity to participate in an exchange program at Meiji University in Japan.

During my time there, I experienced various working styles while collaborating on projects with both local and international students. The challenges I faced during the exchange helped me become more independent and adaptable. My school and dormitory were incredibly welcoming, and I had the chance to help organize events and parties for my hallmates. This experience enhanced my understanding of different working and communication styles, especially through committee meetings with local staff, and it allowed me to gain a deeper appreciation of global cultures.

It was the most fruitful semester of my academic journey, and I believe it significantly contributed to my personal development. I am confident that the lessons I learned during the exchange will support my future learning as well.

My exchange summary: My exchange experience at the National University of Singapore has been truly transformative. Stepping out of my comfort zone was challenging, but it proved to be immensely rewarding. I gained invaluable skills, particularly in interpersonal communication and adaptability, which have contributed to my personal growth.

Throughout my journey, I was deeply touched by the kindness of the locals. Strangers went out of their way to return lost items, assist with my luggage, and support me during moments of discomfort. Their kindness exceeded my expectations and made me feel welcome in a foreign land.

Additionally, I had the opportunity to explore nearby countries, culminating in my first solo trip, which was both exhilarating and enlightening.

These experience stands out as one of the most memorable chapters of my life, marking my first significant journey of self-discovery.

I am grateful for the lifelong friendships I forged, the rich local culture I explored, and the profound personal development I experienced.
