Information for Mentees

Planning activities with the mentor

Q1. How often should I get together with my mentor?
There is no fixed rule on how frequently you should get together with your mentor. It depends on the time schedule of both mentors and students, and mutual convenience.

Q2. Do I meet my mentor alone or together with other mentees assigned to the same mentor?
If you find it very hard to coordinate with other mentees, feel free to meet the mentor on your own if this is ok with your mentor.

Q3. What activities could I arrange with my mentor?

The Department's roles in the programme are limited to finding mentors from the business sector and matching them with you. Other than that, the Department will not plan activities for you. You need to make plans for yourself - this is part of your learning experience.

You can interact with your mentor in various settings. Here are a few suggestions:

  1. Afternoon tea/lunch.
  2. Visit your mentor's workplace.
  3. Business shadowing.
  4. Attend business events (e.g. seminars, exhibition, and luncheon) with your mentor.
  5. Invite your mentor to attend events at the City University of Hong Kong (e.g. BEST seminar).
