To prepare students for careers in the dynamic world of business, Business Career Development offers a variety of internship programmes for undergraduate students with a diversified of career interests. Students will have the opportunity to work alongside industry professionals; engage in real-world projects; develop practical job skills; acquire practical work experiences, and build a professional network.
All normative 4-year degree UG students admitted from AY-2022/23 onwards are required to fulfil the internship/consultancy project/research project graduate requirement in accordance with the requirements stipulated by College of Business.
What are the requirements?
For students who choose to fulfill the graduate requirement with an internship, please note that the curriculum-related internship should be credit-bearing with a minimum of 3 credit units and a minimum internship duration of no less than 4 weeks/160 hours.
For students who choose to fulfill the graduate requirement with a consultancy or research projects should involve student work of no less than 160 hours.
Students may fulfill this requirement by taking approved course(s) from college elective or major core/elective, but preference shall be given to the major course as it is more directly relevant to students' chosen major(s).
Please refer to ARRO or departmental website for the list of credit-bearing internship/consultancy/research project courses. For internship course enrollment, please consult with the respective academic department for eligibility check and registration prior to offer acceptance.
Any exemption?
Students enrolled in double degree programmes with other schools/colleges, or joint bachelor's degree programmes with overseas universities are not required to fulfill this internship/consultancy project/ research project requirement, unless otherwise required by the major programme.

Q. Where else can I find internship besides the above programmes?
A. In addition to the job board from College of Business, students may also visit the Career Opportunities page to view the list of public job boards.
Q. If I secure an internship through self-sourced, can I use it to fulfill my internship graduate requirement?
A. Students may register a self-sourced internship under a credit-bearing internship course from your home department. Please consult with the respective academic department for eligibility and requirements prior to offer acceptance.
Q. For overseas internship, does CityUHK or CB provides any subsidy or scholarship?
A. Students may apply for internship-related scholarship/awards offered under Student Development Services (SDS) or Career and Leadership Centre (CLC). Interested students may apply through Business Career Development when application is open.
