Private Wealth Management Association (“PWMA”) is an industry association whose mission is to foster the growth and development of the private wealth management industry in Hong Kong.

Hong Kong Monetary Authority (“HKMA”) and PWMA have jointly organized an apprenticeship programme for private wealth management (“PWM”) business in Hong Kong.

Programme
Flexible paid summer apprenticeship for university students in the area of private wealth management. Through the apprenticeship programme, university students will gain experience across a range of functions in the private wealth management industry, leading to a potential job offer upon graduation.

The aim of the Programme is to provide university students with "front-to-back" experience in the private wealth management business. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to learn about different investment products, client services, risk management, compliance and internal controls. The experience gained through this programme will provide students a solid foundation for a career in the private wealth management industry.

Participating Institutions
The following member institutions of the PWMA will employ around 40 apprentices. Please note the specific programme duration for each participating firm.

One Summer:

Two Consecutive Summers*:

  • BNP Paribas
  • CA Indosuez (Switzerland) SA
  • The Bank of East Asia, Limited
  • Union Bancaire Privee, UBP SA

*The apprenticeship period will last a minimum of 16 weeks in the summer of 2026 and 2027* or 8 weeks in one summer, subject to performance assessment of the participating firm.

Target Students

  • Full-time undergraduates in the first to third year of study
  • Students who possess a valid working visa in Hong Kong

Stipend Allowance
Students will receive a recommended stipend allowance of not less than HK$10,000 from their host institution sponsored in part by the HKMA.
