NGO Innovation and Digital Technology Recognition Scheme

In today’s rapidly evolving world, leveraging technology and innovation is vital. This year, we invite university students across Hong Kong to participate in the “NGO Innovation and Digital Technology Recognition Scheme,” an initiative designed to foster innovative thinking and problem-solving within the social sector to drive meaningful change in their communities.

Benefits to Students

  • Real-World Application: Gain experience by applying academic knowledge to address challenges faced by NGOs and the community.
  • Skill Development: Enhance essential skills in teamwork and communication, equipping students for diverse future career opportunities.
  • Social Impact: Make a significant difference in the community by developing innovative solutions for pressing social issues. Successful projects will be shared with NGOs for potential adoption.

Submission Details

  1. Propose innovative solutions that leverage technology and digital elements to address community problems, operational challenges and/or enhance service delivery to beneficiaries of NGOs in Hong Kong.
  2. Solutions can be conceptual, ongoing, or completed projects.
  3. Each team may consist of a maximum of five participants from any department or faculty.
  4. Open to all full-time undergraduate students in Hong Kong, with no registration fee required.
  5. Submit proposals online in PowerPoint format. A 3-minute video presentation is optional.
  6. Submission Deadline: Monday, 26 January 2026.
  7. Sample Idea: Create an app to connect volunteers to help elderly community on doctor visits, apartment cleaning, appliance repairs or grocery shopping etc.
