Exchange Student Club organises Chinese New Year Party

The Exchange Student Club (ESC) of the College of Business organised a Chinese New Year Party on 20 January, with the aim to enhance inbound exchange students’ understanding of traditional Chinese festivals.

31 international and local students gathered and celebrated the coming of Year of the Rabbit. Inbound exchange students wore Chinese costumes and were immersed in the Chinese festive feeling. With the assistance of local students, they learnt about Chinese calligraphy and papercutting, they also made paper lanterns and sweet dumplings. ESC Members also shared stories about the Chinese Zodiac, fun facts about Chinese New Year and taught participants some blessing words in Cantonese.

The event was funded by the Student-initiated Projects 2022-2023 of the Global Engagement Office.
