MScMKT Orientation Day 2025
The MSc in Marketing (MScMKT) Programme offered by the Department of Marketing at City University of Hong Kong recently held its 2025 Orientation at the M+ Museum, a world-class museum overlooking Victoria Harbour. This marked the first time the Orientation was held outside campus, offering students not only a memorable start to their academic journey but also an opportunity to explore the cultural vibrancy of Hong Kong. More than 200 incoming students joined the orientation event.

Professor Huazhong Zhao, Associate Head of the Department of Marketing, welcomes the new students of MScMKT.
The programme kicked off with greetings and faculty introductions, followed by a group photo with the stunning harbour view. Students and faculty alike were impressed by the venue, with many sharing their excitement about beginning their studies in such a unique setting. Faculty members expressed the hope that hosting the Orientation at M+ would inspire students to engage with the city and enrich their learning experience beyond the classroom.
A highlight of the afternoon was the alumni sharing session, featuring a senior executive from HKTVmall. The alumnus offered valuable insights into Hong Kong’s fast-evolving e-commerce industry and provided practical advice on career planning, giving students a head start in connecting their studies with future opportunities.
In addition, colleagues from the College of Business shared upcoming career services available to MScMKT students, including workshops, recruitment talks, and personalised career coaching. The 2025 MScMKT Orientation Day was more than just a welcome event; it was a statement of intent. By seamlessly blending academic rigour, direct industry engagement, and holistic personal development in such a unique setting, the Department of Marketing and the College of Business have together set an inspiring tone for the year ahead. We extend our warmest welcome to the new cohort and look forward to witnessing their growth into the next generation of marketing leaders.

Students enjoy the direct dialogue with our alumni.
