Biography
Bryan Spencer is an Assistant Professor of Management at the City University of Hong Kong.
His research seeks to understand how emerging technologies influence work and organizations. As an organizational ethnographer, Bryan uses fieldwork and draws on observations, interviews, and archival data to identify empirical puzzles that cannot be explained by existing theory. His dissertation, which examined AI development within an elite teaching hospital in China, was recognized as a finalist for the 2021 INFORMS/Organization Science Dissertation Proposal Competition.
He earned his Ph.D. from the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management.
