Dr Irene Szeto has been with City University of Hong Kong since 2020.  Prior joining the Department of Marketing, she was the Programme Leader for BA Marketing with Digital Media, BA Marketing Management at Edinburgh Napier University, and BA (Hons) Marketing at De Montfort University in CityU SCOPE.  Irene teaches a variety of marketing modules including Digital Marketing, Global Marketing, Introduction to Marketing, etc.

Previously, she received four Teaching Excellence and Best Teacher Awards at MUHK (formerly OUHK). She has been involved in several research projects, serving as Principal Investigator for the seed grant project "The Impact of Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) on Graduates’ Employability Skills in Self-Financed Higher Education Institutions in HK: A Longitudinal Study Across Academic Disciplines," and Co-Investigator for the QESS grant project "Enhancing Teachers’ Professional Competencies in Teaching Business-Related Subjects in a Digital Era" from 2018 to 2020. Her research interests include work-integrated learning, marketing employability, and general education.  Her work has been published in Asia Pacific Journal of Education, Education + Training.

In addition, Irene possesses over 10 years of industry experience, having served as a Regional Marketing Manager, responsible for marketing planning, budgeting and forecasting, and overseeing all marketing activities. Irene’s career goal is utilizing her extensive marketing knowledge to create students-oriented, high-performance research-based learning sessions thus help her students achieve new heights in the academics.
