Orientation and Residential Workshop for DBA Cohort 2023
The Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) programme welcomed the new DBA students in a three-day Orientation and Residential Workshop I held in Macau from 22nd to 24th September.
Prof Stephen Shum, Dean of College of Business, expressed his warm welcome to the new cohort. Prof Muammer Ozer, DBA Programme Director, made an enlightening and enriching introduction to the DBA programme and to the three-day workshop, followed by an informative presentation on course and administrative matters of the DBA learning journey.
As part of the intensive workshop, Prof Ozer introduced the research process and highlighted the critical aspects of generating high quality research. The following departmental representatives also introduced research in their respective disciplines:
- Prof Zheng Wang, Professor of Department of Accountancy
- Prof Yue Ma, Chair Professor of Department of Economics and Finance
- Prof Keng Leng Siau, Head of Department of Information Systems
- Prof Andrew Chan, Associate Professor of Department of Management
- Prof Huazhong Zhao, Associate Head of Department of Marketing
- Prof Pengfei Guo, Chair Professor of Department of Management Sciences
During the workshop several guest speakers including Ms Winnie Tse of Cohort 2022, Ms Fareeda Cassumbhoy of Cohort 2021, and Mr Alfred Mu of Cohort 2020, as well as DBA graduate, Dr Toa Charm, shared the challenges and rewards of their DBA journey.
