Dr. Zhankun Sun, an Assistant Professor of the Department of Management Sciences, has a paper selected by the Editor-in-Chief to be one of the Featured Articles by the flagship journal Management Science. The paper “Patient Triage and Prioritization Under Austere Conditions”, is a joint work with Professor Nilay Argon and Professor Serhan Ziya from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. Motivated by triage and prioritization in both daily emergency department operations and mass-casualty events, the paper studies an information-delay tradeoff and shares high level similarity with the classical exploration-exploitation dilemma.
