Dr. Satish Sahoo is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Accountancy at the College of Business, City University of Hong Kong. He holds a Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Southern California, an MBA in Finance from the Asian Institute of Management (Manila), and a B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from NIT Rourkela. His research leverages both structured and unstructured data to examine how financial and non-financial information is disclosed, intermediated by the media and financial analysts, and utilized by firms and capital market participants. His work focuses on settings characterized by strategic change and elevated information asymmetry, including mergers and acquisitions, as well as ESG. At CityU, Dr. Sahoo teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in financial reporting, financial accounting, and risk management.
