First open lecture@Shenzhen

The College of Business’s Centre for Advanced Business Research and Executive Education (Shenzhen) held its first open lecture of the Intelligence Gathering Programme at the CityU Shenzhen Research Institute on 29th March.

Prof Ziguang Chen, Director of the Centre for Advanced Business Research and Executive Education (Shenzhen) and Professor of the Department of Management delivered a lecture on “Human Resource Management for non-HR Managers.” He covered issues commonly faced by management, such as learning to identify potential managers, and identifying outstanding employees.

The lecture attracted over 30 executives from various enterprises in China. Prof Chen discussed topics related to the management of employees’ abilities and the principles of reward mechanisms. In addition, he elaborated on a few psychological measures, such as the APCFB model, the motivation puzzle, and the expectancy theory.

The lecture was followed by a three-hour interaction session aimed to help participants plan, administrate, and devise HR policies as well as personnel management.
