The College of Business is delighted to announce that our BBA Global Business student Insaf Idris Sadakkathullah has been awarded the “Innovation and Technology Scholarship 2025.” This scholarship, jointly supported by the Innovation and Technology Commission and The Hongkong and Shanghai Corporation Limited, aims to nurture young talents eager to pursue careers in innovation and technology. Administered by The Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups, each recipient is awarded up to HKD 150,000 to undertake a series of enriching learning programmes.

Insaf’s scholarship application stood out for its ambitious ideation, BridgeImpact, an innovative investment management platform he founded. Inspired by Islamic finance and the Nobel Peace Prize-winning ideas of 2006, BridgeImpact aims to address contemporary financial challenges through a unique Profit-Sharing Agreement model. The platform is designed to provide access to capital for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) while integrating pro-bono consultancy services. This approach not only enhances profitability but also emphasises social responsibility, fostering community-building, training, and mentorship for disadvantaged SMEs.
