New Faculty Members


Yupeng Lin (林宇鹏) is an Assistant Professor in the AC Department. He joined CityU in July 2014. His primary research interests are in banking and information economics. His research has been presented at major conferences, including the AAA, EFA, CICF, NBER, Asian FA, and FMA. His papers have received several best paper awards and have been published in the Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis.

 

Yupeng earned a Ph.D. in Business from the National University of Singapore in 2014, and a B.Econ. in International Trade (2008) from Sun Yat-Sen University.

 

Yupeng’s other interests are soccer, reading novels, and shopping. In his spare time, he enjoys doing research on debt contracting.

 

 

 

 

Dr. Wu received his B.A. degree in Economics from Fudan University, and his M.A. and Ph.D. in Economics from Vanderbilt University. He taught economics at the University of Alberta for several years, and also obtained his Ph.D. in Accounting from the University of Alberta.


Dr. Wu’s research interests are financial reporting and corporate finance; he is especially interested in the area of financial fraud and whether corporate insiders and outsiders are able to detect frauds before they are publicized. His teaching areas are financial and management accounting.

 

 

 

 


Dr. Yangxin Yu obtained his Ph.D. from Hong Kong University of Science & Technology. Prior to joining the City University of Hong Kong, he was a Lecturer at the Australian National University. Dr. Yu’s research interests include financial reporting, executive compensation, and corporate social responsibility. His publications have appeared in Journal of Accounting and EconomicsThe Accounting Review, and Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis.
