CALL FOR PAPERS
The Methods in International Finance Network (MIFN) aims at promoting research in the domain of international finance. It provides a platform for researchers and advanced PhD students to exchange research ideas and share new research findings with an emphasis on the interactions between econometric methods and economic theory. The Network activities include annual meeting/conference, exchange of PhD students between participating universities, and applications for European or National grants.
The annual workshop organized by the international network is designed to facilitate high level, high intense discussion and fruitful exchange between researchers in the domain of international finance. The previous workshops, all of very high quality of the scientific point of view, took place respectively at the University of Maastricht in 2007, at the IESE Business School (Barcelona) in 2008, at the University of Luxemburg (Luxemburg) in 2009, at the University of Shandong (China) in 2010, at the University of Orléans (France) in 2011, at the University of Macquarie (Australia) in 2012 and finally at the University of Namur (Belgium) in 2013, which testifies of the international character of this annual event.
The Board of Methods in International Finance Network (MIFN) in collaboration with IÉSEG-School of Management is inviting submissions of academic papers for its 8th international Workshop “Methods in International Finance Network”. Submissions on issues related to international finance, financial economics and/or applied econometrics, possibly taking into account the possible implications of the recent financial crisis on the research developments in these fields are especially encouraged. The workshop will be held on 4 and 5 December 2014 on the Campus of IÉSEG-School of Management in Paris.
The organizers are seeking to bring together leading international researchers, academics and central bankers interested and involved in this field. The aim of this 2-day conference is to cover a broad range of related topics, both theoretical and empirical, in international finance (including the macro-finance literature). The conference will in particular be devoted to recent advances in both theoretical and empirical analysis of financial markets, including both money and the capital markets as recent developments in applied econometrics addressing issues in finance. The number of participants is limited in order to support strong individual participation and the development of convivial relations.

Paper submission
Submission should be done no later than 31 August 2014. Acceptance decision will be communicated latest by 15 September 2014. The final version of the paper to be presented at the workshop should be sent to organisers by 15 October 2014.
Please send an email containing preferably the submitted full paper or at a minimum an extended abstract with a comprehensive description of the scope of the paper (in pdf format), with your contact information (name, affiliation, telephone and email address) to the local organisers at IÉSEG-School of Management (email: mifn2014@ieseg.fr). Further guiding principles to submit a paper is available on the corresponding webpage.
