College of Business, together with our Exchange Student Club (ESC) proudly welcomed incoming exchange students to CityUK with an engaging series of orientation activities. From 6 to 9 January 2026, incoming students from 79 partner universities around the world joined us, underscoring our commitment to fostering a vibrant international learning community.
As 166 students set off on this exciting exchange adventure, the orientation week was thoughtfully designed to help them transition smoothly into academic and social life in Hong Kong.
Incoming exchange students gather for a welcoming luncheon to engage with CityUHK professors and staff, fostering a sense of belonging.
Kicking off the week, the ESC hosted an engaging CityUHK Orienteering Game on 7 January. This event not only familiarised participants with the campus but also created a lively atmosphere for forging new friendships. After the Orienteering Game, incoming exchange students gathered for a welcoming luncheon featuring faculty and representatives from both the College of Business and CityUHK. This event provided a valuable opportunity for students to engage with professors and staff, fostering a sense of belonging.
On 9 January, a group of 110 incoming students, along with 10 ESC members, embarked on an unforgettable excursion to Lantau Island. They visited the iconic Big Buddha and the charming fishing village of Tai O, immersing themselves in the rich cultural tapestry and stunning landscapes of Hong Kong. Tai O, with its stilt houses and traditional fishing lifestyle, offered a truly unique glimpse into the local heritage. This outing not only strengthened connections among the students but also provided them with a special opportunity to engage with vibrant local traditions in an unforgettable experience.
The outing to Tai O provides the inbound exchange students a special opportunity to engage with vibrant local traditions.
Throughout the week, the College of Business, in collaboration with the ESC, held a series of informative sessions offering essential resources and support to help students adjust to their new environment.
The College of Business warmly welcomes all exchange students and wishes them an incredible experience at CityUHK and during their stay in Hong Kong.
