Programme Aims and Objectives

This programme aims to educate and train the IS managers and professionals of the future to understand the opportunity, principles and impact of digital transformation and technological innovation in organizations. The programme does not assume that students have prior knowledge in these areas, but a background in information systems, business or organization studies will be an advantage. The programme incorporates a special focus on, and the potential for, strategic advantage that digital transformation and technological innovation can bring.

Applications are processed on a rolling basis. Review of applications will start before the deadline and continue until all places are filled. Early applications are therefore strongly encouraged.

Remarks: No internships available in this MSc programme.

 

† Combined mode: Local students taking programmes in combined mode can attend full-time (12-18 credit units per semester) or part-time (no more than 11 credit units per semester) study in different semesters without seeking approval from the University. For non-local students, they will be admitted to these programmes for either full-time or part-time studies. Non-local students must maintain the required credit load for their full-time or part-time studies and any changes will require approval from the University.

 

Recognition by CPA Australia 

CPA Australia is one of the world’s largest professional accounting bodies representing more than 172,000 members working in over 100 countries and regions around the world, with more than 25,000 members working in senior leadership positions. Since 2022, City University of Hong Kong and CPA Australia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) granting CPA Program exemption for two courses offered by CityU’s Department of Information Systems in its Master’s programmes. With the aim to nurture young talents with inter-disciplinary skills, this is CPA Australia’s first collaboration to recognise an information systems programme provider worldwide.
