2013 SAS Data Mining Challenge Awards

The Department of Management Sciences from the City University of Hong Kong has invariably positioned itself to enrich young scholars throughout numerous academic years.

The Data Mining Challenge Award was established by the Department to nourish talents with analytics mindsets, through the collaboration of SAS platforms, and prepared students to address real-life business situations with new and unique perspectives.

[Msom-society] postdoc position at IESE Business School, Barcelona

A postdoctoral research position in Operations Management is available at IESE Business School (University of Navarra) in Barcelona, Spain. The objective is to develop research in the area of retail and fashion operations, and more specifically, to build fashion demand models and to study store and production/distribution policies that can adjust to volatile demand trends. The initial appointment will be for one year, with one additional year contingent upon satisfactory performance. The contract will start in October 2014.

BBA First Year Teaching Awards

Dr. Amanda Chu and Mr. Lau Ho-Min win the BBA 1st Year Teaching Awards (Lecture and Tutorial respectively, 2013/14). There are 2 awardees in each category and MS occupies 2! The College of Business (CB) offers the First Year Teaching Awards (Lecture) to up to two teachers to recognize their teaching innovation and outstanding performance in lectures for first year courses during the academic year of 2013/14. SAS Data Mining Award for MS Students

Since 2001, the Department of Management Sciences from the City University of Hong Kong has been offering Enterprise Data Mining course for the BBA (Hons) Managerial Statistics Programme (under three-year structure) and BBA (Hons) Business Analysis Programme (under four-year structure) . Students of both Programmes are required to do a group project using the data mining techniques and SAS Enterprise Miner skills to solve real-life business problems in the final year of study.
