We are so excited to have all freshmen joining our BOM family! This year's orientation day was held on 24 August 2019 (Sat). It provided an opportunity for our freshmen to know more about our program structures and planning of student development throughout their university lives.
Welcome - New Assistant Professor (Dr Ding MA)
The Department of Management Sciences is pleased to announce that Dr Ding Ma joined us in August 2019. Dr Ma is an Assistant Professor of Marketing and Management Sciences at the College of Business, City University of Hong Kong.
Warm Welcome for MS Freshmen
More than hundred freshmen began their tertiary education journey at the Departmental and Programme Orientation on 29 August 2019 (Thursday).
Our programme leaders shared the programme structures and student life at our Department. Different colleagues shared the student development supports including professional examinations, career services, English learning, internship and exchange programmes.
Academic advisors also took this opportunity to meet our freshmen as Department wishes to see that every student is marking proper progress and personal development.

Alumni Reunion: Our first batch of BAQAB graduates gather together and celebrate their graduation after 30 years
The first batch of graduates studied in our department first degree program, BA in Quantitative Analysis for Business (BAQAB), enjoyed a happy reunion on November 2, 2019 to celebrate their graduation after 30 years. They graduated in 1989. Six of their former teachers in the department joined to share their memories. We are very proud of the contribution they have made to the Hong Kong society for 30 years and help building our department’s brand name.
Welcome - New Assistant Professor (Dr Zhixin ZHOU)
Dr. Zhou is an Assistant Professor of Management Sciences at the College of Business, City University of Hong Kong. He received his bachelor degree in applied math from UC Berkeley and Ph.D. degree in statistics from UCLA.

“Lunch & Learn – Banking & Finance” event was successfully organized on Nov 30, 2019, with nearly 50 attendees including alumni, students and staff of the Management Sciences Department (MS).
Welcome - New Associate Professor (Dr Jianfu WANG)
The Department of Management Sciences is pleased to announce that Dr. Jianfu Wang joined us in January 2020. Dr Wang is an Associate Professor of Management Sciences at the College of Business, City University of Hong Kong. He received his B.Sc. in Mathematics from Southeast University, his M.Sc.
BANL kicks off a new year with lunch gathering
To kick off a new year, Business Analysis Program organized a lunch gathering for students on 7 January 2020, attracting over 30 BANL students joining the event even though it was hosted during a preparation week. Everyone enjoyed the food and the students took the chance to interact with the major leaders, who gave valuable advices on different aspects such as students' academic development, gaining exposure through exchange program and future career planning. The event symbolized a good start of a year and the program leaders hope that all students have a fruitful year ahead.
