# Subject to the successful completion of the prescribed courses and periodic review by respective professional bodies. If students wish to apply for module exemptions, they must take the prescribed courses accredited for the corresponding modules as electives when any of these specified courses are not the required courses for graduation. ACCA only awards exemption where students have sat and passed the specific modules detailed, as part of an assessed programme. If students have been awarded credit or exemption for some or all of the modules specified on the Exemptions calculator, the exemption may not be awarded.
Module exemptions are also available for non-accredited programmes.
If you have completed courses that align with those assessed in accredited programmes, you may be eligible to claim the same exemptions.
ACCA designates the modules assessed as part of a fully accredited programme as "accredited modules." Therefore, if you have undertaken one or more of these accredited modules or combinations within your non-assessed programme, you can apply for the corresponding exemptions.
According to CPA Australia, even if your degree is not accredited, they will assess your study history during the application process for potential exemptions.
Additionally, HKICPA has announced that, effective from 1 January 2022, applicants can apply for module exemptions based on qualifications from recognized tertiary institutions, which also applies to non-accredited programmes.
Please note that exemption and assessment fees may vary between accredited and non-accredited programmes. For further details, please refer to the official websites of the relevant professional bodies. We encourage you to consult the relevant professional bodies for more information regarding your eligibility for exemptions.
