Deloitte’s CyberAce is a cyber security bootcamp dedicated to STEM students with the passion to develop a career in cyber security business. Teams need to tackle a lot of challenges to get the chance to advance to the final stage.

The competition is about a mock business case pitch organized by Deloitte China Cyber. Participants need to go through screening and shortlisted teams will receive guidance from a mentor from Deloitte Cyber to make a business proposal (PowerPoint) based on cyber issues stated in the Request for Proposal (RFP) published by a global company (fictitious). Finalists will pitch to the company executives in order to win the engagement with that company. There are 12 teams in the final presentation, 8 teams from Mainland China and 3 teams from Hong Kong. The team consists of five members: three from CityU, one from BU and one international student from Canada. The team got the 3rd place among the 12 teams and receive RMB 10,000.

Below is the sharing by the team:

“In the journey in CyberAce, although all of us were very busy with all the schoolwork, like projects, assignments and exams, we still spared no effort to make it to the Final and even landed the 3rd place among all the teams. It was not something easy, but we did it! What is more important is that we learned so much throughout CyberAce, like how to understand client's requirements, how to write a proposal, how to effectively solve a problem, how to pitch an idea to the client, etc.. Last but not least, we also learned a lot from our mentor, Kowin Tang, and also from our teammates.”
