Research is being pursued rigorously at the IS Department. Current research grants amount to almost $10 million. Particular emphasis is placed on the links between theory and practice and upon the practical application of innovative information systems theories, methods and techniques to business and organisational problems in Hong Kong and Asia-Pacific region. Staff members in the department publish research results regularly in top international journals and conferences. During the past three years, staff members from the department have published and presented over 250 papers, of which over 120 are refereed journal articles or book chapters. Teaching faculties have published in prestigious international journals such as the MIS Quarterly, Information Systems Research, Communications of the ACM, Management Science, Academy of Management Journal, Journal of MIS, Journal of AIS, and IEEE / ACM Transactions on various subjects. The Department also publishes its own working paper series enabling research results to be disseminated rapidly.
