3+1 Undergraduate plus Taught Postgraduate Degree Programme of the CityU Talents Programme for students admitted from Semester A 2020/21 and thereafter

 

Bachelor of Business Administration in Information Management (BBAIFMG) and Master of Science in Business Information Systems (MScBIS)

  • It is an attractive alternative for top students to go on a fast track to complete the master degree right after their undergraduate studies and graduate with better knowledge in a wider scope than ordinary graduates.
  • Many of our undergraduate students find it challenging to enter workforce without in-depth knowledge of Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Cloud Computing and Big Data (ABCD) technologies. With the proposed “3+1” Undergraduate plus Taught Postgraduate Degree Programme, our students will be equipped with advanced knowledge and skills to develop modern information systems with ABCD technologies.
  • Our graduates can advance their careers fast and work as systems analysts or business analysts directly with a master degree in MSc in Business Information Systems. They can also work with the graduate students in the class and learn the research experience from their peer students. It will also encourage them to do further research in information systems field.

Commencement:

Semester A 2021/22 (applicable to Normative 4-year student intakes of 2020/21 and thereafter)

 

Planned Intake:

Estimated Intake to 5 students per year, subject to review

 

Entrance and Eligibility Requirements

Direct Entry:

a) Local: DSE score ≥ 28

b) Non-local: IB score ≥ 38 or an equivalent overseas qualification as determined by the home academic unit in consultation with the College

c) Mainland: follow “entrance scholarship requirements”

 

Existing Year 1 Students:

a) Top 10% of year 1 undergraduate students in the College of Business and a minimum CGPA of 3.4

b) No failed grades in any courses in Semesters A and B

c) Completion of at least 30 credit units in Semesters A and B, including the number of credit units specified by the College of Business/ home academic units of required courses

d) Recommended by the Major Leader

 

On-going Performance in Undergraduate Study

A minimum yearly CGPA of 3.4 or above at the end of Semester B of the year.
