Q. Can I extend or spread my study duration to 2.5 or 5 years?

Yes. For full-time students, you can spread your study over a period of up to 2.5 years. For part-time students,  you can spread your study over a period of up to 5 years for completing all required credits. For part-time students, you can plan to take 1 or 2 courses (or none) in a given semester. However you should note some courses have prerequisites and some courses may be offered in one of the two semesters only.

Q. Is there a limit on the credits that can be transferred? Will the grades for the credit-transferred courses be counted in my GPA?

Credit transfer will be limited to a maximum of 6 credit points for equivalent postgraduate elective courses only. Transfer credits will not be counted in the calculation of the student's Grade Point Average and classification of award.

Q. Can I complete the programme in 1 year by studying full-time?

Yes, full-time students are expected to complete the program in 1-year. Full-time students must at least enrol 4 courses per semester.

Q. My job requires frequent travel to mainland China . How important is the class attendance?

We expect you to attend as much as possible all sessions of the courses you have registered for. In fact, most courses have an assessment component that requires active participation in classes.

Q. Are the courses in the programme are very technical?

All core courses of this programme do not assume students with IT background. However, students are expected to have basic college-level mathematical knowledge.

 

For elective courses, students are free to choose their favorites.

Q. Can I get the detailed syllabus of various courses in the programme?

Q. What is the process for obtaining credit transfer for courses completed?

Applications for credit transfer for equivalent elective courses, at postgraduate level (with grade B or above), completed prior to entry to the University can be made in the first semester of the programme. You need to provide the syllabus of the course you have successfully completed as part of the application. Obtain the application form from SGS office.
