Deloitte’s CyberAce is a cyber security boot camp dedicated to STEM students passionate about developing a cyber security business career. Teams need to tackle a lot of challenges to get the chance to advance to the final stage.
The competition is about a mock business case pitch organized by Deloitte China Cyber. Participants need to go through screening by completing a set of online cybersecurity courses, and shortlisted teams will receive guidance from a mentor from Deloitte Cyber to make a business proposal (PowerPoint) based on cyber issues stated in the Request for Proposal (RFP) published by a global company (AWS). Finalists will pitch to the company executives to win the engagement with that company. There are 12 teams in the final presentation: 8 from Mainland China and 4 from Hong Kong. The team consists of four members: two from CityU, one from HKBU, and one from HKUST. The team got the 2nd place among the 12 teams and received RMB 20,000.
Below is the sharing by the team:
“The Deloitte CyberAce 2023 competition was a fantastic experience for all of us. Amid a busy academic schedule of midterms and final projects, we completed all the tasks and met deadlines. What's more important is we managed to build a relationship quickly and tackle complex challenges across different technological fields. Ultimately, we learned a lot from mentoring sessions with Deloitte Partner Eric Leung, pitching an idea to meet client demands and building an end-to-end product roadmap.”
