Biography
Xinyi is an educator with a unique interdisciplinary background spanning the humanities and social sciences. She holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Chinese Language and Literature and she earned her PhD in Human Resource Development from Texas A&M University. She taught in the United States, Mainland China, and Hong Kong, gaining valuable experience navigating the complexities of higher education across diverse cultural contexts. Her research focuses on contemporary career challenges, with a specific emphasis on women's career interruptions and reentry difficulties. A qualitative researcher at heart, she investigates organizational phenomena and individual lived experiences. Her work is published in journals such as Journal of Career Development and the European Journal of Training and Development. She also serves as Co-Chair of the China-SIG for the Academy of Human Resource Development.
