Visit to the Hong Kong Trade Development Council SME Centre

On February 4, 2025, a group of 49 BBA Management students from the course of MGT4227 Launching Business in Asian Pacific undertook an enriching visit to the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) SME Centre, located at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai. The visit gave students valuable insights into launching businesses in the Asian Pacific region.

Mr Jason Tsang, the Senior Customer Service Executive at HKTDC, warmly welcomed the students and introduced them to the SME Centre's extensive resources that are tailored to aspiring entrepreneurs. Jason guided the group through the centralized resource and interactive service centre, showcasing its comprehensive business library, meeting areas, function rooms, and various business support services.

During the visit, Jason elaborated on HKTDC’s wide range of export marketing services designed for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). This information particularly benefited the students, highlighting the support available for businesses expanding into the Asian Pacific markets.

The students took full advantage of the opportunity to access the most current business information regarding the Asian Pacific and Mainland China markets. They gained insights into the latest industry trends and developed contacts that could be instrumental for future regional business endeavours. The visit enhanced their understanding of the practical aspects of launching a business and illustrated the vital resources and networks available to entrepreneurs in Hong Kong.
