MBA meeting with Dr Norman Leung

Debuting the new MBA course, FB6706 - Executive Discovery & Network, the CityU MBA Team has invited three renowned speakers to share their life experiences and perspectives on the business world today.

Tuesday, Oct 29th, marked the first session of the Speaker Series. College of Business (CB) is honored to have Dr. Norman Leung, Executive Chairman of Television Broadcasts Ltd. on campus to spend the evening with our MBA students. The event took place at the newest Business Seminar Room at Academic 3 Building on fourteenth floor.

Summarizing Dr. Leung's inspiring speech are four important key points:

  • "If anyone can do it, we can do it as well, and we can do it better."
  • "I don't believe in fast tracks, you must work hard, have a plan."
    • Know what you are doing
    • Have interest in what you do; don't work for money
    • Continuous learning mentality; there’s always more to learn
    • Believe in yourself and your ability in doing anything
  • "I don't believe in dreams, but you must have goals which you can work towards."
  • "Today is the first day of the rest of your life, remember this, every day is a fresh day."

 

Dr. Norman Leung ended the forum with a powerful quote:

"Your Future is in Your Own Hands."

Leaving the students to reflect on their past and ponder into the future.
