MBA Professional Forum by Mr Francis Mok

Mr. MOK Gar-lon, Francis (FIHRM), President of the Hong Kong Institute of Human Resource Management (HKIHRM) was guest speaker at the Professional Forum organized by the MBA programme held in Academic 3 on the evening of 2nd December.  

The topic of the forum was Challenges for HR Professionals in a Dynamic Business World. During the forum Mr. MOK presented the latest trends in the Hong Kong labour market through statistical data and analysis.  He encouraged discussion on issues related to the local employment market including contributing factors to labour shortage and job mismatch, diminishing workforce number due to ageing population, employer and employee relations and examples of industries providing favourable employment opportunities in the Hong Kong economy.  The forum gave MBA students the opportunity to understand issues in the local labour market, vision for future employment especially with an eye to careers in demand, and the importance of discovering and mapping their abilities and talents in establishing their own career.
