Students receive recognition for company consultancy projects

Following the first ceremony held at the end of Semester A, the Department of Marketing held a subsequent Joint Awards Presentation Ceremony for final year students majoring in BBA Marketing (BBA MKT) and BBA Marketing Information Management (BBA MIM) at Wei Hing Theatre on 27th May.

The ceremony titled Joint Awards Presentation 2013/2014 Semester B for Company Consultancy Projects and Active Learner Awards was opened by Prof Arthur Ellis, Provost of CityU. Around 140 attendants including guests, company representatives, faculty members, and students joined the ceremony.

Representatives of the six participating companies, accompanied by Mr Alex Tham, Senior Teaching Fellow of Department of Marketing, announced the result of the winning teams and delivered the trophies and certificates to the students. Votes of thanks were given to the companies and teaching staff by student representatives of the two programmes. Mr Tham, who is also the Active Learning Leader of the Active Learning Programme, presented the scholarship awards to the outstanding students.

Prof Chenting Su, Head and Chair Professor of Department of Marketing and Prof Julie Li, Associate Dean of the College, commended the students’ effort and devotion in their projects and learning process; Prof Su further expressed his gratitude towards the teaching staff and participating companies for their support and guidance to the students in his closing speech.
