MBA Residential Trip 2014

The MBA Residential Trip (R-Trip) 2014 was successfully held from 15th to 24th June at Lianyungang, Jiangsu province, China. The trip was organised by the Master of Business Administration programme of the College for one of its core courses.

A group of 52 students consisting of 47 CityU MBAs and seven Indiana University students, led by trip leader Prof Kevin Chiang, Programme Director of MBA, departed Hong Kong and completed their 10-day challenge working with in-company case studies provided by hosting company Jiangsu Hengrui Medicine Limited.

Students formed teams to discuss, analyse, and provide recommendations for two major topics – Operations Management and Human Resources.  Each team selected a target analysis area of their major topic prior to their departure from Hong Kong.

Through various group discussions, presentations, and case studies, students performed a detailed industry analysis and an in-depth exploration of the company’s business operation and management. The R-Trip is designed to enable students to deepen their managerial problem-solving skills and teamwork skills.
