CityU executive programme for Russian graduate alumni

The Executive Education unit of the College of Business (CB) organised an advanced programme in Public Policy & Administration for Master of Public Administration (MPA) of The Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA) alumni from 13th to 17th October.

The five-day programme was taught by CB professors at the CityU campus. RANEPA School of Public Policy Dean Prof Sergey Zuev and CityU College of Business Associate Dean Prof Wenyu Dou opened the programme welcoming the ten Russian alumni.

From 14th to 17th October, the alumni joined lectures and site visits of a sub-division of the RANPEPA executive programme for Russian government officials running from 14th to 24th October. Activities included lectures, site visits to Stanley Market, Victoria Peak, ICAC, and the HK Efficiency Unit.

Lectures

  • Management Marketing in China: Delivering on Promises, Avoiding Perils by Prof Wenyu Dou, Associate Dean of the College of Business and Professor of the Department of Marketing
  • Social, economic & political development and challenges in mainland China by Prof Hon S Chan, Professor of the Department of Public Policy and Acting Head of the Department of Linguistics and Translation, College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences
  • Keep society clean: the government's anticorruption measures by Prof Ting Gong, Professor of the Department of Public Policy
  • Manage human capital in the world city: building Hong Kong’s comparative advantages by Prof Ziguang Chen,
  • Maintain and strengthen Hong Kong’s competitiveness as a world financial center by Dr Wilson Chan, Adjunct Professor of the Department of Economics and Finance

  • Efficiency Unit of The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, facilitated by Dr Arthur Cheung Kam-chuen, Senior Teaching Fellow of the Department of Public Policy, introduction to Hong Kong’s Civil Service System and Government Efficiency, and Public Sector Reform in Hong Kong by Mr Michael Chan and Mr Simon Lam of Efficiency Unit

About the RANEPA Executive programmes at CityU

The College has organised three sub-division programmes for the RANEPA network:

  1. 6th – 10th October ­– Advanced management international study programme on Hong Kong: Managing change in the world’s future city for The Graduate School of International Business (GSIB) of The Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA) Executive MBA (EMBA) students
  2. 13th – 17th October* – Advanced programme in Public Policy & Administration for Master of Public Administration (MPA) of The Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA) alumni
  3. 14th – 24th October* – Advanced programme in Public Policy & Administration for Russian Government Officials, supported by The Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA)

* The second and third sub-divisions attended the same lectures and site visits during the period between 14th to 17th October.
