University of Toronto’s Omnium Global Executive MBA Programme at CityU

CityU continues its longstanding participation in the Omnium Global Executive MBA programme as a teaching partner for Module 2: East Asia,by providing students with unique insights on doing business in China. 32 students attended a series of events including a guest talk, a company visit, and lectures between 23rd November and 26th November.

Dr Paul Hempel, Associate Professor of Department of Management at the College of Business, delivered a lecture on the first day summarizing the key points of doing business in China.

The College invited Ms Angela Lau, Regional Vice President, Organizations cum President of Northern Mainland China of Nu Skin, to lead a company visit. She introduced Nu Skin’s direct selling and multilevel marketing business model and explained the company’s business operations in Northern Mainland China.

The students also took part in a Capstone Project. Mr Grayson Bass, Prof Dragan Stojanovic, and Prof Doug Hyatt of Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto gave them lectures in applied innovation, accounting and economics, respectively. After finishing their stay at CityU, the students headed-off to Shenzhen and Shanghai to continue the remaining class of Module 2.

CityU has been a teaching partner in the Omnium Global Executive MBA programme hosted by the Rotman School of Management since 2005. The programme provides an 18-month international learning experience which immerses working professionals in core business disciplines from a global perspective.
