EF students receive scholarships from Chow Sang Sang

12 undergraduate students of the CityU-Columbia University Joint Bachelor’s Degree Programme received scholarships donated by Chow Sang Sang Holdings International Limited (Chow Sang Sang) to fund the recipients in their third- and final- year of study in the United States. A scholarship presentation ceremony was held at Academic 3 on 28th April.

Three students from the Department of Economics and Finance were among the 12 scholarship recipients. Each of them will receive a sum of HK$60,000 for their third and fourth year learning at Columbia University after they have completed the first two years of study at CityU.

Yile Sun (BBA in Business Economics, 2013 cohort)
Lujing Shen (BBA in Business Economics, 2013 cohort)
Bohao Ma (BBA in Business Economics, 2013 cohort)

The scholarships were presented by Mr Theodore Tam, Chief Financial Officer of Chow Sang Sang. Mr Tam congratulated the awardees for their opportunity to study abroad. Prof Matthew Lee, Vice-President (Development and External Relations), Prof Horace Ip, Vice-President (Student Affairs), Mr Vincent Chow (Chairman and Group General Manager) of Chow Sang Sang, and Deputy Council Chairman of CityU, Dr Gang Hao, Associate Vice-President (Development), and Prof Julie Li, Associate Dean of the College, also joined the ceremony on congratulating the students.

The joint degree programme was launched in 2012 and opened to students from Economics majors at the College of Business in 2014/2015 academic year. Students will earn a bachelor degree from both universities upon the programme completion.
