CB holds open lecture on 21st century healthcare in Hong Kong

The College held an open forum entitled Delivering 21st Century Healthcare in Hong Kong, under the Intelligence Gathering Programme series at the CityU Shenzhen Research Institute Building on 11th July.

Prof Ziguang Chen, Director of The Centre for Advanced Business Research and Executive Education (Shenzhen) and Professor of the Department of Management, welcomed over 80 guests who were interested in the medical industry to the event. Prof Chen emphasized that as the only institute from Hong Kong to have an Executive Development Programme (EDP) in mainland China, EDP focuses on the training needs relating to the advanced management experience of Hong Kong and foreign countries, and the transformation and innovative digitization of industrial processes induced by the Internet and Industry 4.0.

The College invited renowned operations management and supply chain management expert Prof Houmin Yan to discuss topics relating to Delivering 21st Century Healthcare in Hong Kong – Building a Quality-and-Efficiency Driven System, a theme-based research project led by the College and supported by the Hong Kong Research Grants Council. The project plans to research and provide recommendations in three areas: operations research into hospital resource planning, healthcare data management, and more long-term population healthcare life-cycle studies. Prof Yan explores the operational management on delivering 21st Century Healthcare in Hong Kong.

Prior to Prof Yan’s talk, Prof Wenyu Dou, Associate Dean (Postgraduate Programmes) of the College, introduced CityU and the College’s updates and its development plan for mainland China.
