CB students win unique opportunity to learn from Hong Kong’s top executives

Three College of Business students were selected from over 100 applicants to join the Shadow a CEO Programme, winning a once-in-a-life chance to follow the daily lives of senior executives for three days. The programme provided winning students a chance to learn from top management on how to operate a company, and its brand value, corporate background, industry facts, management meeting presentations, etc. The contest was part of an event under the third Career Forum organized by Classified Post.

MBA student Christina Qian learned from Mr Hoi-see Song, founder and CEO of Plaza Premium Lounge Management Limited. For a summary of Christina’s experience, please view video.

Christina’s testimonial:

I learned a lot from this programme. First is the qualities one need to become a CEO, which include persistency and passion towards what you are doing,  high EQ, and good observation ability. Second is the opportunities and challenges faced by the service industry in Hong Kong, especially the airport lounge services. Last and the most important one is the ability to identify the market gap in the real business world, which is also the key to success of Mr Song and his company.

Aaron Lam, BBA China Business, and Annie Chung, BBA Marketing, shadowed Ms Ka-shi Lau, Managing Director and CEO of BCT Financial Ltd and Bank Consortium Trust Co Ltd, in March 2015.

Aaron’s testimonial:

My passion for entrepreneurship and leadership brought me to the Shadow a CEO Programme. In addition to gaining industry knowledge of the financial sector and learning the operations of each departments in BCT, Ms Lau taught us how to evaluate economic situations from a broader perspective, how to equip ourselves with better knowledge for the future and gave us tips on leadership. She also shared her personal experience and advice on personal growth! I would like to express my gratitude to BCT and Classified Post for providing such a meaningful platform for students to learn in their chosen industries.
