EF hosts finance workshop for local researchers and PhD students

The Department of Economics and Finance (EF) and the Research Center for International Economics of CityU co-organized the 2015 Hong Kong Joint Finance Research Workshop at Academic 3 on 14th August.

Over 50 local researchers and PhD students joined the conference sponsored by the Hung Hing Ying and Leung Hau Ling Charitable Foundation. The workshop served as a networking platform for local researchers in finance to exchange research papers/ ideas, and explore different research interests of the participants. The Conference Committee consisted of members from local universities:

• Dr Yaxuan Qi  of City University of Hong Kong
• Dr Po-hsuan Hsu of The University of Hong Kong
• Dr Kai Li of The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology
• Dr Kam-Ming Wan of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University
• Dr Cong Wang of The Chinese University of Hong Kong

Dr Yaxuan Qi, coordinator of the workshop, opened the conference welcoming the scholars. Prof Junbo Wang, Acting Head of EF at the College of Business of CityU, joined Dr Qi in greeting the guests. The researchers explored research areas on four key topics: Asset Pricing Theory, Behavior Finance, Corporate Finance, and Empirical Asset Pricing during the workshop.
