The Executive Master of Business Administration (Chinese) (EMBA (Chinese)) programme organized a five-day study trip to Tilburg University in the Netherlands from 31st August to 4th September.
The College of Business and CityU has a profound academic partnership with Tilburg University and its business school, TiasNimbas Business School (TIAS), one of the top business schools in the World. Led by Prof Stephen Liao, Deputy Programme Leader, and Prof Choon-ling Sia, 40 students embarked on the journey to the Netherlands.
 The trip aimed to provide insights and  foster links between Chinese and European businesses. Ever since the stock  exchange was first established in Amsterdam in the 17th Century, the  Netherlands has always been one of the major hubs in Europe. Today, the Netherlands  is the origin and headquarters of over 20 top world brands, such as Shell,  Heinekens and Philips. With the growth of Chinese economy and  internationalization, business between Europe and the East has become more  frequent and prominent than ever.

The students gained valuable insights from  topics such as business strategy, management culture, technology innovation,  digital business, supply chain, corporate social responsibility, and etc.  Highlights of the study trip included team workshops, group presentations, and  corporate visits to leading international companies, such as KPMG,  one of the largest professional services companies in audit, tax and advisory, and SAP  SE, the largest enterprise software company  in the world.

In addition to learning about the European business practice, the students explored the culture, art, and history of the region by visiting symbolic places such as Port Rotterdam and Van Gogh Museum.
