The College of Business organised an annual retreat event at Academic 3 on 2nd October.
Over 55 faculty members from the Management Team, academic representatives, and administrative staff attended the event. The retreat reviewed different programmes and management strategies, and suggested improvements for the College.
Prof Houmin Yan, Dean of the College, thanked the faculty and administrative staff for their endeavours in assuring the College at its highest academic quality and standards. He emphasised the significance of the 5-Year Review of Academic Excellence and highlighted accomplishments on research growth, student competitiveness and placement. Prof Yan also addressed concerns on the teacher-student ratio and other areas.
Each of the programme directors shared their updates on market competitiveness, challenges and plans for future development. Members from the faculty and departments actively participated in the group discussion and voiced out their views.
The faculty members presented in the retreat (In order of presentation):
An Er Wu, flute, and violin musical performance session by Mr Chauman Hui of the Department of Computer Science, and two BBA students, An Zhou and Chun-ting Chow, respectively, concluded the CB retreat. The faculty was impressed by the talents of CityU colleague and students!
A dinner ceremony was held after the retreat. Prof Yan presented the below awards to the winners and congratulated on their accomplishments.
