The Young Scholars Programme (YSP) Mentoring cum Student Presentation Gathering 2016 was successfully held on 11th March. There were 73 undergraduate top students, and about 12 faculty members, mentors, and guests attended the event.
With the support from 25 faculty  members and 20 participating companies, the programme offered overseas study  tour, leadership trainings, business mentorship, internship  opportunities and community services, aiming to train up students to be an  all-rounded future business leader with professional and practical skills.  Two YSP students who are in their final years  of study, Carol  Huang Mei-yu,  BBA China Business, and Ada Au Pui-yee, BBA  Accountancy, shared how the YSP benefited their university lives.
Carol  said, “The YSP helps to build connections among excellent students from  different departments, and we can learn from each other’s experience. It has  been a fruitful journey for me. The trainings, workshops and mentoring  activities in the programme enhance my competitiveness in the business  world." 
She gave her favourite quote to conclude the university life, "Be an explorer! Don't be afraid to fail! Everything counts! "
  Another  participant, Ada, felt positive about the event, “This gathering event provides  me a precious opportunity to share my learnings with teachers, guests  and other YSP members. I enjoyed this evening very much especially meeting  my mentor and mingling with friends from other departments.”
During the event, a group of students also presented their learning experience in the Seoul Study Tour 2015. They were:
Dr Weiquan Wang, YSP Management Team Convenor and Associate Dean of the College of Business (Undergraduate programmes), Dr Christoph Schneider, Assistant Professor of the Department of Information Systems, Ms Wisteria Cheung, Senior Teaching Fellow of the Department of Marketing, Dr Zachary Leung, Assistant Professor of the Department of Management Sciences, Dr Raymond Wong and Mr Alfred Ma, both Assistant Professors of the Department of Accountancy, jointly congratulated the students for their outstanding achievements in the toasting ceremony.
A cocktail session was arranged before the dinner providing opportunities for mentors and mentees to mingle.
