The Giuseppe Castiglione – Lang Shining New Media  Art Exhibition, which jointly organised by the City University of Hong Kong and  National Palace Museum in Taipei, is now open to the public at CityU. The  opening ceremony of the exhibition was held on 25 April. 
Prof Jeffrey Shaw, Chair Professor, and his team at the School of Creative Media specially deployed new media technologies to produce this spectacular exhibition. With the use of digital and mobile technologies, the art exhibition offers a new sensation of presentation of Giuseppe Castiglione’s artworks to reveal the exquisiteness of the Chinese paintings.
Prof Way  Kuo, President of CityU, said at the  opening ceremony that the University was glad to have another opportunity to  work with National Palace Museum Taipei, after the first collaboration in the  Rebuilding the Tong-an Ships New Media Art Exhibition, which was held at CityU in  August 2015.  He  was hopeful that these kinds of collaboration would help promote the art and  culture in the University. 
Giuseppe Castiglione (1688-1766), an Italian Jesuit  missionary who became an influential painter in the Qing Dynasty, produced many  excellent works during his stay in China. His works were greatly admired, with the unique integration of European  techniques and traditional Chinese painting styles.
The exhibition is now open to public from 26th April to 25th Aug on 18/F, Academic 3, City University of Hong Kong.
