DBA residential workshop 2016 travels to Vietnam


The Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) Programme has organised its Residential Workshop II themed “Moving Forward” from 27th to 29th May in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Led by Prof Muammer Ozer, Director of the DBA Programme, and Dr Xueping Wu, Associate Director, a group of 14 students from the 2014 and 2015 cohorts were guided in preparing their thesis proposals during the workshop. The students were briefed on the important aspects in writing the thesis. They were then divided into groups to conduct oral presentations and received feedback from faculty members and fellow students.

The following faculty members facilitated in the group presentations and provided advice to the students:

  • Prof Choon-ling Sia, Head and Professor of the Department of Information Systems
  • Prof Jeff Hong, Chair Professor of the Department of Economics and Finance and Department of Management Sciences
  • Prof Junbo Wang, Professor of the Department of Economics and Finance
  • Dr Stephen Shum Wan-hang,  Associate Professor of the Department of Management Sciences
  • Dr Yanni Yan Mingping, Associate Professor of the Department of Marketing

The residential workshop also invited DBA alumni Dr Fenella Chu (2012), Dr CK Chan (2015) and student from 2013 cohort, Mr Joel Ma, to share with the current cohorts the tips in preparing thesis proposals and their journey in committing to the programme.
