The Department of Economics and Finance and the Global Research Unit co-organised the 9th annual Society for Financial Econometrics (SoFiE) Conference at CityU during 14th-17th June, 2016.
Sponsored by the Hung Hing Ying and Leung Hau Ling Charitable Foundation (孔慶熒及梁巧玲慈善基金), the four-day conference attracted over 140 local and overseas researchers from major research institutions to share their research findings. Hot issues related to the financial econometrics were addressed in the meeting.
Prof Yin-wong Cheung, Founding Director of  the Global Research Unit and Hung Hing Ying Chair Professor of International Economics at  the Department of Economics and Finance, together with other local organising  committee members, Prof Giorgio Valente and Dr Daniel Preve, Professor and Assistant Professor from the  Department of Economics and Finance respectively, and Dr Yingying  Li, Associate Professor of The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, contributed  tremendous effort to make the conference successful.
