CB advocates continuous quality enhancement in student learning

The College of Business hosts regular Assurance of Learning (AoL) briefing sessions for all faculty members and administrators to ensure effective implementation of AoL.  On 8th December, an AoL briefing was held particularly for the course leaders who are going to conduct AoL assessment in the upcoming semester starting from January 2017.

Professor Robert M Davison, Assistant Dean (Assurance of Learning), shared on the following topics during the briefing, and demonstrated the newly available online forms and various enhanced features of the AoL Online System:

  • What is Assurance of Learning
  • How to assess students' learning
  • How to prepare a course-level AoL report
  • Supporting documents to be submitted
  • How to "close the loop" in AoL
  • How to submit AoL documents online

The AoL is adopted across the College as one of the programme quality assurance mechanisms to achieve continuous curriculum enhancement, through regular measurement of student learning outcomes and various feedback systems, as well as external benchmarking.
