Accountancy students awarded Merit in HKICPA Qualification Programme Case Analysis Competition

Organized by the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants (HKICPA), the Qualification Programme (QP) Case Analysis Competition brings together students in accounting and business studies to investigate a specific business case every year. In this year’s competition, a team of CB students earned the Merit award.

The team comprised four students from the Department of Accountancy: Jade Tam Wing-yee (team leader), Angel Kan Long-yin, Milri Tsz-yu Lee and Vincy Yi-ching Liu. All four students are from the Professional Accounting Stream.

Team leader Jade told us her experience, “We were given a case of a dairy company. We had to propose solutions to help the company review their core values and financial status, and explore other business opportunities.”

“I think the key to success is to be open-minded, and humble to learn along the way. This positive attitude helped us experience many breakthroughs when forming the solutions, and allowed us to construct a better project concept.”

The QP Analysis Competition is an inter-tertiary event aims to develop participants’ business skills, cultivate their professional judgment and prepare them for the business environment. Through the competition, students would enhance their analytical competence, problem solving abilities, team building and presentation skills, and expand their network in the industry.
