Effective leadership in project environment


Jointly organized by the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) programme, the CityU DBA community, and the Project Management Institute Hong Kong Chapter (PMI), Ms Monica Tang Wai-man, a CityU DBA candidate and IT professional, talked about Effective Leadership in Project Environment at the research seminar on 19th January.

“Our DBA programme does not only strive to generate quality knowledge through rigorous research; it also emphasizes on applying it in real business scenario, and share the knowledge and bring meaningful impact to society,” Prof Muammer Ozer, Director of the DBA Programme, pointed out the purpose of this seminar series.

Ms Tang discussed with the audience the characteristics of project environment and its significance in improving performance within organizations. She also introduced the concept of participative leadership and its application and challenges in managing teams.

Also attending the seminar included Mr Jude Chow, Chairman of the DBAC, and Mr Anthony Tsui, Vice President (Programs) of PMI Hong Kong Chapter.

The research seminar was sponsored by Prof Muammer Ozer, who donated his CityU Teaching Excellence Award grants to promote research development and strengthen the bonding within the DBA community.
