Youth Entrepreneur Challenge 2017 Award Presentation Ceremony

Organized by the College of Business, the Youth Entrepreneur Challenge 2017 (青年創業挑戰賽2017) was successfully held in February. The Award Presentation Ceremony was held on 18th March and attracted more than 100 secondary school students, their teachers and parents, and supporting organizations to join the event.

The competition required the participants to create a business proposal about their startups, with detailed analysis on the market situation, company’s directions, operation plans and business strategies, etc. The panel of judges evaluated the students’ performance based on areas such as the ability in applying business knowledge, creativity, presentation skills, etc.

The panel was impressed by the creativity of the students’ proposals. The Champion team suggested running a haunted house that provides different themes for customers to select, with an integration of QR code and virtual reality; while the First runner-up team proposed an online platform that links up designers, suppliers, manufacturers and customers, so that business can be facilitated in a more convenient way.

Dr Weiquan Wang, Associate Dean (Undergraduate Programmes) of the College, said in his opening address, “Nowadays, more and more young people would like to start their own business and become entrepreneurs, and many of their projects have received positive feedback from investors. Our competition explored the potentials of the secondary school students, and provided them a platform to showcase their business talents, and creative ideas.”
