MKT students receive merit award in media campaign

Two students from the Department of Marketing, Natiss Suen Chik-nam and Kristin Choi Nga-sze, earned a merit prize in Media Campaign 2018 organised by SOW Asia, SOW (Asia), a charitable foundation that supports enterprises to scale social and environmental impact through financial investment and accelerator programme.

Participating students were asked to produce a 1-minute video to promote a social enterprise. With a theme of 香港夢。聚音樂 (embrace the Hong Kong music dream), the team produced a video to promote digital music education platform TapTab.io. The plot is about how a passionate young man in a hustle and bustle city like Hong Kong, pursued his music dream by self-learning on the platform.

Natiss shared that video shooting and editing were new to the team, they also paid a lot of effort in brainstorming the theme and delivering the message. “The media campaign was a nice learning opportunity for us. Being a future marketer, creativity is always important in the dynamic era. I believe the award is great motivation for driving us to succeed!” She said.

Kristin said, “I feel grateful and excited for getting the merit award. Most importantly, we have applied the concept and knowledge learnt in class into practice, it was truly a valuable chance for me to gain real life marketing experience.”
